This is the webbing that runs along the center of the belt body and passes through the buckle.

The ATLAS Belt offers the wearer an ultra low profile design ideal for use under duty belts, war belts and even backpack waist belts. Each profile is designed to be stiff enough to support daily wear of items like handgun holsters, magazine carriers and knife/tool pouches; while maintaining a certain level of flexibility that is important for overall comfort. The ATLAS belts have been designed to bridge the gap between common pants belts that are either too stiff or too soft, thus offering the end user more selection to dial in their daily carry needs.

The new 1.25″ model uses Biothane as the base body material. Biothane is a coated webbing with a hand similar to leather. The material is very popular and has been used for years in the equine industry as a low maintenance durable replacement for leather tack.

The secret to both the low profile design and affordable cost of the ATLAS belts is in the ITW G-Hook buckle. At just over an inch tall, there is no large buckle to impede a belt worn over top or to stab the wearer in the gut. The buckle is steel, has no moving parts and is very cost effective when compared to popular buckles used today. Unlike other belts with a second tail to fight while donning, the ATLAS sports a clean tail with four “keeper loops” that the buckle slips into when tightening up the belt. There are multiple loops for two reasons: First, multiple loops allow the user to dial in the fit easier and thus creates a shorter tail on the buckle end, keeping more of the belt’s body free and clean for attachment of gear. Second is redundancy; in the event of a failure of one of the loops the user can simply lengthen or shorten the tail to engage another loop and keep the belt in use until replacement or repair can be obtained.
